The Top Hat Increasing Adaptor 1mm 316 stainless steel is installed at the base of the chimney on the under side of the register plate. It has a rebated connection on the underside of the plate to allow the connecting flue to slide up 100mm allowing easy integration of the stove / disconnection of the stove. The adaptor to MI-FLEX sits above the plate where the transition to flex should be made. The adaptor has a square cover plate built in to cover the hole made in the register plate. This adaptor increases up 25mm from the single wall to the flexible flue liner.

MF21 MI-FLEX accessories 1mm 316 stainless steel is a premium range of heavy-duty fittings made using 1mm 316 stainless steel. This family of installation fitting has been perfectly designed for use with MI-FLEX 316 and 904 flexible flue liners. When fitted in conjunction together it will make a full system chimney.
These items are to use in conjunction with MI-FLEX Multi fuel flexible flue liner. Building Regulations Document J requires that a flexible flue liner can only be installed completely enclosed inside a masonry chimney. A non-masonry enclosure such as timber or plasterboard boxing in is not acceptable. All items are suitable for use on appliances up to 600°C (T600 designation).
Suitable for use on Wood <20% moisture, Smokeless coal, Gas, and oil. Bottom fixings are used to make the transitional change from the connecting flue system to the Flexible flue liner. The connection to the flex should be made inside the confines of the existing masonry chimney and no flex should be on show at any time. Provisions must be made to secure the bottom fixing into the connecting flue below and the flexible above to make a gas tight seal, The use of fire cement, ceramic rope or tape or high temperature sealant it's advisable. The chimney system must be designed to allow for easy provision for sweeping and maintenance. Sweeping must be carried out by competent person. On solid fuel applications a list of HETAS registered sweeps can be found at www.hetas.co.uk. under no circumstances should chemical cleaners or mild steel tools be used to sweep stainless steel chimneys. Cleaning and inspection of the chimney system should be carried out at least once a year, along with maintenance of the appliance, but it is recommended that chimneys serving solid fuel appliances be swept at least twice a year, at the end of the heating season to remove any deposits, which may have built up during the season, and at the start of the next heating season to check for any blockages or deposits. i.e., bird's nests.
