It is commonly assumed that when choosing a hearth for your newly purchased wood burning, gas or electric stove that stone such as slate, granite, limestone or sandstone are the only options available. And as fantastic as these various materials are, they can be both expensive and in some cases do not complement the modern and contemporary styling of many of the new stoves available on the market.
Glass may seem a strange choice for use with your stove, but with our new toughened hearth options now available online a fantastic selection of shapes, sizes and colour finishes can be chosen to suit modern fires as a clean and contemporary alternative to the norm.
Our glass hearths are available in three main finishes, which include clear glass, smoked (black tinted) and a painted black finish.
The clear glass finish is perfect if you wish to view your wood, laminate or tiled flooring beneath. The clear also keeps the focus on the stove.
Our smoked finish will still offer a slight view of the flooring beneath, but gives more presence to the hearth whilst adding a contemporary finish which matches well with modern room settings.
The black finish completely obscures the view of the flooring below the stove, and is achieved by painting the underside of the hearth in a solid colour.
Our glass hearths can also be used as a neat and easy to clean option when used in front of inset stoves that are flush within the wall. These inset glass hearths are designed with this in mind, and have a depth into the room of 300mm to meet within the minimum required hearth depth of most stoves.
Unlike stone alternatives, it is simply a case of laying your new inset glass hearth directly in front of your inset stove without the need to use any adhesive or fixings to hold it in place.
When searching through our glass hearths you may find that you find the perfect hearth style and finish, but that the dimensions shown are either not suitable or not quite perfect for your hearth placing. Fear not, as all of the glass hearths shown on our website can also be made in bespoke sizes to suit your requirements on request.
If you would like to enquire about pricing on a bespoke hearth, simply pick the style and finish that you would like, and email us at email@example.com with your required sizes and we will contact you with a price and lead time (bespoke glass hearths are usually cut and supplied within 3 weeks from ordering).
